RDIF: WHO experts may visit Russia to certify Sputnik V jab in Dec
MOSCOW, Nov 24 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) expects the World Health Organization (WHO) to send its experts to Russia as part of the work on the recognition of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in December, head of the fund Kirill Dmitriev said at a briefing on Wednesday.
“Russia’s Healthcare Ministry is now engaged in a dialogue with the WHO, and we expect an inspection in December and see some positive progress,” Dmitriev said.
In early October, Russian Healthcare Minister Mikhail Murashko said that all barriers to the WHO recognition of the Sputnik V vaccine had been removed, and only some administrative procedures remained. Later, the RDIF head noted that the fund is waiting for approval from the WHO in the next couple of months.
